day 3!

Hello from Mumbai day 3!
Today we had the day to ourselves so we've spent the day recovering from the last couple of days! We headed out of the hotel to explore the area that we are staying in!There's not much to be honest...a few shack type shops, some car rental places, another hotel and then a lot of rundown apartment blocks! Further up the road there is also some slums complete with chickens, dogs and pigs! (see pics)
We were hassled the whole way..complete with wolf whistling, car horns blaring and the occasional comment in broken english! Some boys accosted us and demanded to know where we were from- the options being australia or usa (apparently the only 2 places they knew about!) they took some photos of us so they could brag to their friends and then ran back off into the slums! (we still dont understand how they had a mobile when they live in a shack with no electricity to charge it with and no money to pay for it with!!) we carried on exploring- we saw a goat- lisa came out with a classic; “why is that dog so funny looking!?”! We also saw some tiny little puppys which were gorgeous! Cant believe the way dogs are treated over here; most live on the streets living on scraps they can find...our dogs dont realise how lucky they are! we've spent the afternoon looking through our guidebooks trying to plan some trips off for any days we have free- we will go stir crazy if we have to spend any more time in this hotel than necessary!! Tomorrow we're heading to the child desk which should be interesting...got to brave the trains again but this time at least we know which carriage to use!! speak soon lots of love lisa and claire xxx
